Thanksgiving
I didn’t always love this holiday, but now it’s one of my favorite times of the year. No gifts, just time with your family! Like all holidays in my family, we start by noon and eat all day long. Yes we watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the dog show and a football game is in the background, but so are a few wonderful traditions that we’ve adapted as the kids have gotten older.
“Thankful” Book
In 2007 we started this scrapbook for all the guests to write what they are thankful for. Each year the look of the section people write on changes, providing a beautiful flow to the book. It’s wonderful to look over what people have written in the past decade; announcing pregnancies, moves and the handwriting of the kids through the years.
Games
We are a family that loves games. When the kids were little we would arrange a scavenger hunt, as they got older we played soccer at a local field or ran a few 5-mile races early in the morning.
